2 Free Ebooks for the Young

Sallie and Mike have 2 great ebooks ready for the consumption of your most enthusiastic and active children. I’m not so sure whether both of them written these ebooks together, but I’m very positive that regardless, they’re pretty excited with what they have accomplished so far. So I’m not going to add anything from my side and just share their excitement by laying down what they have to say about each of the ebooks they have :-

The first one is the My Color Crayons. You can either print as is as often as needed or you can color the crayons in and laminate them and use a dry erase marker to have your child practice with and then wipe clean for the next time. This ebook contains all of the colors of the basic eight plus has an extra crayon without any names for you to do yourself if you want like pink or grey or whatever comes to mind.

The second book is Learning My Numbers. You can also print it and laminate it for tracing. This ebook contains several worksheets of numbers to include 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, and 1-20. It also has two bonus sheets with basic letters with numbers to 10 as well as story paper and lined paper.

Update: Sallie has got a 3rd book out! Learning My Letters. This is what the great Sallie has to say – “This eBook has 37 pages of dot to dot tracing letters –  individual letters, the complete alphabet, multiples of each letter, etc..  I also included the lined paper and story paper in this one as well.”

Free Linux Ebooks

Homelinux.org hosts probably one of the biggest free Linux ebooks in the Internet world today. Being a popular site has its drawbacks – High Bandwidth Usage. Having said that you’re limited to only 10 ebook downloads per day. I think that’s more than enough for an average daily reading routine. If you can read and consume 10 books in a day, my hat’s off to you.

Google Book

<!--enpts-->books_sm.gif<!--enpte-->Call me a caveman cause this is the first time I actually visited Google Book. Heard of it numerous times but just couldn’t be bothered, but while I’m still in there browsing through the huge numbers of free ebooks, you might as well do the same. Chances are you already know of it, so smack me in the face and come visit me in the cave.

Google Book or Google Book Search basically separates itself into 3 main categories, namely Fiction, non-Fiction  and Random Subjects, which I think is a categorization methods based on simplicity, which is good. Everything is laid out nicely with the ebook covers representing each of its title. Once you’ve selected the ebook that interests you, it’ll simply loads up and ready to be read. The default format of viewing in my opinion, appears to be in PDF, but can be changed to HTML by clicking the option on the bottom right corner. You also have the option of making the viewing area “full screen” for a better non-invasive reading area.

Free Ebooks for All?

Lifehacker reports that the same guys at WaybackMachine are coming up with an open library to provide free ebooks for all. Hell yeah. Now this is an excerpt from lifehacker …

… wants to provide free access to a comprehensive selection of books online through a project called the Open Library. Right now the library’s collection is far from extensive, but the idea is promising, and the Internet Archive is a determined archiver, so here’s hoping the project continues to improve …
